Beacon Day 22 — Inktober 2026
Beacon: A Light in the Age of Misinformation
We’ve never had more access to information. So why do so many people believe nonsense?
Social media rewards outrage, conspiracy theories, and sensational claims. The more shocking the story, the faster it spreads. Facts rarely generate the same engagement as fear.
Meanwhile, people scroll, share, and follow whatever confirms what they already believe. They ignore credible sources, dismiss evidence that challenges their chosen narrative, and mistake popularity for truth.
But facts still matter. Critical thinking still matters. And the truth doesn't become false simply because a million people refuse to believe it.
In a world full of noise, facts are a beacon. The question is whether we'll see the light before we lose our way.
